Text (SMS) Messages
The Practice has the facility to send text messages to confirm appointment details and remind you of upcoming appointments. These messages are sent out automatically by the Practice’s clinical system, and contain a pre-defined set of information.
The Practice can also send out personalised messages to individual patients. These messages will be from “accuRx”, the message will state which user has sent the message, and the message will be saved into your record.
You have a choice
Please note that patients are opted-in to the service by default.
When new patients register with the surgery, they are given the choice to opt in or opt out of the text messaging service.
If you have been registered with the surgery for some time, and you do not wish to receive text message please contact the surgery and let us know.
Choosing to opt-out of this service will mean that you will not receive automatic or personalised messages.
The Practice does not accept liability for any issues caused by:
- a text message being sent to an out of date mobile phone number – It is your responsibility to make sure the Practice has your correct mobile number
- a text message not being received – There are a number of reasons why a text message may not be received, and successful delivery cannot be guaranteed. It is your responsibility to make sure that you attend for agreed appointments
